This tour isn't really built for young children under 7. These aren't movie pirates. There is no dancing or sword fights or anything resembling what you might see in a movie. Our guides are fun and we take special care to make sure everyone is having a good time. disclaimers: This is a walking tour in the streets of the French Quarter. Our guides can't control what you may see or hear on the streets. We do our best to avoid any challenges but we are in the French Quarter.
The weather can change from day to day. Be prepared when you arrive for the tour. It gets really hot in the summer so everyone will sweat. It can rain really hard as well so you may get wet. faqs: How long is the tour? We walk less than a mile. Takes about 2 hours
What happens if it rains? We all get wet and the Pirate gets cleaner. If there is lightning or it is deemed not safe the tour will end and we'll re-book you on the next available tour.
What if I'm late for the tour? You paid for the tour! Why be late? Pirates wait for no one.
Where does the tour meet? 607 Dumaine Street. Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour starts. While you're there you can browse our gift shop.
Is the tour kid friendly? Our guides are NOT movie Pirates. Younger kids under 7 probably won't enjoy the tour. The French Quarter offers all variations of foul language, drunkenness and the occasional nudity. While we like that sort of stuff we keep it clean-ish on the tour. Some of the stories involve death, drinking, torture, gambling and wenching. When kids are on the tour we clean it up.
Can I drink on the tour? If you're 21 you certainly can. It makes us funnier and better looking. If everyone on the tour agrees then we can certainly stop at a bar along the way. If you want to have a lot of drinks with a Pirate we suggest taking our Pub Crawl. We reserve the right to throw anyone off the tour for being disruptive to the other guests.
What will I learn? Way more than you expect. The Pirates in New Orleans in the early 1800s operated a little differently than most Pirates throughout history. This is a very well researched tour. You WILL be surprised at what you learn about Pirates and New Orleans.
Can I ask questions on the tour? Yes! But make sure the questions are good or the guide might make fun of you.
Can I take Pictures on the tour? Our guides are the best looking guides in the business so yes take plenty of pictures. We encourage taking pics of buildings, carriages and anything else cool you see in the French Quarter.
Are Private tours available? Yes. Our tours are great for groups, corporate outings, large families, bachelorette parties or whatever. Just contact us and we'll get it done!
Do I tip the Pirate guide? While it is customary to tip guides, musicians and performers on the streets of New Orleans it is totally up to you. Keep in mind though you just spent 2 hours with a Pirate and they'll remember what you look like and once the tour is done they don't have much else to do so...Don't think of it as a tip, think of it as an insurance policy.
If you have any other questions just contact us.
