The walking tour includes: The Mississippi River or the "Father of Waters" - this mythological body of water has provided New Orleans with its reason for being. The French Market, the oldest open-air market in the nation.Ursuline Convent, the oldest building in the Mississippi River Valley. Jackson Square and its splendid architecture, including St. Louis Cathedral; the Cabildo and the Presbytere, Spanish buildings which flank the cathedral; the Pontalba Buildings, the oldest apartments in the US; and the statue of Andrew Jackson. A Creole courtyard - learn about the complexities of Creole society. The Quadroon Ballroom - explore the world of Creole mistresses and the system of placage. Various literary haunts such as Faulkner House and the apartment where Tennessee Williams wrote A Streetcar Named Desire as well as film locations such as King Creole, A Streetcar Named Desire, Live and Let Die, J.F.K, An Interview With The Vampire, The Big Easy, Angel Heart, Double Jeopardy, and Runaway Jury.
The tour also visits Anne Rice sites and literary haunts such as Faulkner House, the home of William Faulkner. The tour also stops at Pirate's Alley, the scene of daring pirate prison escapes and a legendary dueling ground.
