New Orleans Named Top 10 U.S. Destination by TripAdvisor

New Orleans was recently named by TripAdvisor as a Top 10 Destination in the United States, which is no surprise to locals! TripAdvisor has been giving out these awards since 2009, and New Orleans has consistently made the list as both a top world destination and a top U.S. destination. This year, the Crescent City comes in at number nine on the list. With affordable lodging, world-famous dining options, endless culture and entertainment, and parties like no other, it’s no wonder New Orleans made the ranks.

This year, more than 400 destinations were honored across the globe based on the quality and quantity of TripAdvisor’s traveler reviews, hotel ratings, restaurants, entertainment, and attractions. TripAdvisor lists the average hotel rate in New Orleans at $246 per night and notes that prices are about 21 percent lower in August than in other months. The only Southern city ranking higher than New Orleans on the list was Orlando, coming in at number five.
